There was one younger guy who played him, can't for the life of me think of his name but most of them have been older, I am hoping that by using a younger actor who actually loves Dr.Who that maybe he will stay with it for awhile, here is to hoping it works out and hangs around awhile.

So christopher eggleston will finish the 1st season...I do not know about the new guy...does not look like he could be a DW...too young IMO...but I will give him a chance (dont know anything about him)...after seeing peter cushing kind of formed a profile for him being older in years...also have some eps with tom baker, jon pertweet and I think one with all of them called the 3 Doctorsrs The First season was done filming the thirteen quite some time ago, so we don't have to worry about another actor having to finish the season. Word has it now that CE only ever intended to do a single season, and the BBC had to give him a public apology with the saying that he decided to not come back for another season. There was one younger guy who played him, can't for the life of me think of his name but most of them have been older, I am hoping that by using a younger actor who actually loves Dr.Who that maybe he will stay with it for awhile, here is to hoping it works out and hangs around awhile. The Actor Peter Davidson who played the 5th Doctor was the youngest to play the character. The new guy to get the role is either at same age or younger than Peter Davidson was.

Next season writers have been anouced. Russel T. Davies (5 episodes) Mark Gatiss (1 episode) Steven Moffat (1 episode) Matt Jones (2 episodes) Tom MacRae (2 episodes) Toby Whitehouse (1 episode) ? (1 episode) As for who they are and what they have done before I haven't got a clue. I hope that they have a litle more sci-fi backgraound than the current group.

BBC has gone and laid off Mike Tucker and shut down the Model Effects shop. These were the guys that produced such non-computer graphics effects as the exploding Nestene Conciousness warehouse at the end of "Rose", Big Ben being smashed by a spaceship in "Aliens of London", the new Dalek, etc.

According to BBCi
It seem that rumor of there finely being an anouncement to the airing of DW in the US may be true. Little is know about what the new who movie will be about. Hopefully maybe they can do the Time Wars story and get the actor that played the 8th Doctor to be in it.

Well it looks like Billie Piper isn't going to be playing her character on DW for the entire next season. So there is a rush out to see who will be the next companion for the Doctor. Its also not known at this time how many of the episodes she will do in the new season to come. So far the list of women put forward for the role of DW companion are: Rachel Stevens - age 27 better known for her stint with S Club7 Olivia Lee - age 25 TV host of the Morning After Show Michell Ryan - age 21 from Eastenders STAR - age 25 of ITV's Murder Nights Rose Byne - age 25 stared with the actor that is to take up the mantel of the Doctor in the series Casanova. Lisa Hogg - age 21 was in Wire in the Blood, Brookside and stage play Loyal Women. Rebecca Clarke - age 24 seen in Silent Witness and Yakult. Loo Brealey - age 26 play a nurse in Roxy Bird in Casualty. Rachael Stirling - age 28 seen in Tripping the Velvet and Miss Marple's Murder at the Vicarage. Katherine Heath - age 25 got rave reviews as Alice in the RSC's Alice in Wonderland.

Well three of the second season Directors have been announced James Hawes (The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances) Euros Lyn (End of the World/The Unquiet Dead) Graeme Harper (Caves of Androzani/Revelation of the Daleks)
Also it looks like Billie Piper (Rose) will be staying for the entire 28th season.
There is also rumors that the BBC has commissioned another season of DW as well as a second christmas special. So we might be getting a 3rd additional season of the new series giving us a 29th season. Though nothing offical about this yet.
