JOULES was pretty good. I was a little jarred by the sudden transition from INDIES but it didn't take long to get pulled into this story. So, is she a spy?

i don't think she's a spy, i think she's a smuggler but she's certainly hot and not shy about it. i'd say JOULES is the raciest chapter yet by far. was a little surprised there wasn't a MATURE READERS ONLY warning on it. oh well THREE MORE SLEEPS

she's trouble, you know that much. I remember Malcolm saying somewhere that what he really liked about Film Noir detective stories was that the hero knew the "dame" was trouble the moment he saw her, but it didn't stop him from taking the case. Joules is a "dame"!

you know, just when i think i know where this book (or even chapter for that matter) is going it up and shifts gears and i'm left wondernig where we're goig now? the implication in the episode guide is that at some point Joules and Finnegan team up, it'll be interesting to see if they do so with baggage or fresh

yeah, i'm rooting that somehow the two meet during this book rather than Joule's story bineg completely separate, although i guess it's a little convenient when characters meet up repeatedly. still, it's almost wednesday and that means THREE MORE SLEEPS!!

wow.
that's all i've got to say about this week's installment. it was longer than most and by the end of it i'm stunned at the ethos of this character, or more accurately lack thereof.
i haven't figured out whether she's just a peripheral character and we'll only see her this chapter or if she becomes something very key to the overall story but at this point i'm glad i still not sure if i like her or not.
I like the Gilmore guy though, poor guy.

the more of this chapter i read the more i'm enjoying it. Joules is a thoroughly unreliable character and the idea she might one day end up on Finnegan's Squad makes me want to get to those stories sooner rather than later!

wow, this last installment completely caught me off guard. here i was thinking she was nothing more than a con artist (and might still be one) but that betrayal at the end, if there weren't still sections of this chapter yet to go i'd think she was dead. can't wait for next week!

yeah, this chapter is rapidly shaping up to be my fav. joules has so many layers to her. i can't wait until she and finn meet up. he strikes me as completely by the book and i don't think she's even seen the cover (HAHA)

TWO MORE SLEEPS until the next installment! JOULES has been one of the funnest and rolliking chapters yet this book and you just know it aint the end of that. So, if we took a Finn Poll who would be your FAVORITE FINN FEMALE?

well they postponed last fridays installment. hopefully they don't get into that habit!
Now I was thinking about this story, the chapters JOULES and KEEN and I've come to realize they're a departure from the other chapters.
The others were very episodic, you could almost see the episode playing out as the story unfolded, but JOULES' story seems to jump around a lot more, vignette style, in a way that just wouldn't play out in an episode. It's actually pretty jarring considering the rest of the book (not that I'm not enjoying it).
Just my thoughts...

yeah, you can definitely see some of the threads coming together but what i love is how even in this simple recovery story we're learning more about this universe. do you think those rocks are a bit clue to the whole thing or just a red herring?

its hard to say about the rocks, this week's installment puts them in the red herring category. i think they're probably prominent in this chapter, it's only half over and joules is close to recovering her ship but whether they play a bigger role in the story? they're tracking units, i don't see how

yeah, i don't think they mean much for this chapter. i'm just figuring they've come up more than once and i think they're going to mean something bigger in the overall story.
