"Sandstorms" looks interesting. What's it about?

I'm rereading the book Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Mainly because the movie is coming out this year.

Right now, I'm reading Garth Nix's fantasy novel Sabriel, as well as David Brin's post-apocalyptic novel The Postman.

I wouldn't know. I've never seen the film, though I'd like to (and yes, I've heard it's bad).
The book is quite interesting. I'm about halfway through so far, and it's a neat idea. I can't say I'm a huge fan of the flamboyant patriotism thing though. It's just a little much to stomach.

Well I think that the movie could have been good if a certain actor didn't also direct it as well.

I quite like Mr. Costner. I'm one of the few who thought Waterworld was great, ecological impossibilities aside.

WaterWorld I though was an interesting idea, but I though the whole thing was a little overboard so I really couldn't get into it.

Update for all!
-Finished Sabriel. Excellent book! I'va laso read it's sequel, Lirael, and am midway through the third of the trilogy, Abhorsen. Liking it muchly.
-Finished the Postman. Not bad. See initial feelings on the book.
-I made the horrible mistake of picking up my girlfriend's (who likes some pretty good sci-fi, and got me hooked on Sabriel) copy of "She's Come Undone" By Wally Lamb while she was at work and I was watching her dogs. About a depressed and abused girl's life and weight problems. I'm the unfortunate sort of person who can't start a book without finishing it, so I had to slog through it. it's on Oprah's book club list, so you know it must be bad.
-Read my girlfriend's copy of "Starfish" by Peter Watts. A very neat book about people genetically, chemically, and cybernetically modified to work in the horrible pressure and darkness at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, ina geothermal plant. It explores how people would be able to live down there, and what kind of person could survive psychologically there. I really liked it.
-Reading The Life of Pi by Yann Martel. Pretty nice, but I'm only about a third into it. It's well written, and a nice, interesting story, even thought I've only just just built up to the main storyline.
I think I may have read one or two other things as well, though I can't remember any of them.

Really showing my age, but early on in my job I did a lot of shift work, apart from the Necroscope books I also read a fantastic set of books by Weiss and Hickman called the Dragonlance Series(?). I can recall these being very good.

Yes they are I have read all of them.(starting with the first set which is what the Dragonlance box set is based on--talk about showing your age!!!) I also ran Dragonlance as a table top RPG for quite a few years--loved all the characters in them.

I'm working my way through the third Hornblower omnibus. I guess because of the BBC series with Ioan McGreggor they re-released all the CS Forrester classics. I'm on the third Omnibus now, mid way through the second book with two more books to go and then I'm facing serious withdrawal! A great series!

Well let's see. I just got done reading all of Orson Scott Cards Ender series (I thought they were good IMP). Also just finished the second book in the Star Wars: Dark Nest Trilogy by Troy Denning. Now I'm on the third book of the Wayfarer's Redemption series by Sarah Douglass. I usually stick to Sci-Fi books but this series of Fantasy is pretty good.
