This is the place to discuss all those cheesy science fiction B flicks
The 1st
Killers from space
This film is soooooo cheesy. The film begins with tons of atomic stock footage. Then the plot starts
Peter Graves is a scientist kidnapped by awful aliens with unbelievable eyes
Then everyone thinks he's insane when the aliens return him to civilization
I recommend this to fans who love bad movies

I'll have to check it out when I see it. It sounds good. I have been a Peter Graves fan for a while. Before Mission Impossible he did a MI type pilot called "Call to Danger". He played an agent for the government who pulled off likewise "impossible" missions. But it was different because he used ordinary citizens with special skills as his team. It was intended to be different people working with him each week. The pilot didn't sell but when Stephen Hill had to drop out of Mission Impossible as the IMF leader Dan Briggs, they hired Peter Graves as his replacement.
After Mission Impossible got cancelled they did a second 'Call to Danger" pilot, shown as a TV movie. Same premise as before. It didn't sell that time either.

Here's the details on "Call to Danger"
One pilot was made in 1973 and the other in 1967. Both were similar to "Mission: Impossible". Here's what IMDb had to say about these shows:
Call to Danger (1973) (TV) Directed by Tom Gries
Writing credits Laurence Heath
Add to MyMovies IMDbPro Professional Details
Genre: Adventure (more)
Plot Outline: A federal agent recruits a computer whiz to try to free a Mafia witness who has been kidnapped and held in a heavily fortified compound.
User Rating: 4.9/10 (15 votes)
Cast overview, first billed only: Peter Graves .... Doug Warfield Diana Muldaur .... Carrie Donovan John Anderson .... Edward McClure Clu Gulager .... Emmet Jergens Tina Louise .... April Tierney Stephen McNally .... Joe Barker Ina Balin .... Marla Hayes Michael Ansara .... Frank Mulvey Roy Jenson .... Dave Falk William Jordan .... Tony Boyd Edward Bell .... Reed Paul Mantee .... Adams Wesley Lau .... Police Sergeant Victor Campos .... Danny Lesley Woods .... Lesley Woods (more)
Runtime: 90 min Country: USA Language: English Color: Color
Trivia: This pilot was produced while Peter Graves was still making "Mission Impossible" on the assumption that, should his current series be canceled, Mr. Graves would immediately step into the new adventures series. "Mission Impossible" was indeed canceled after the 1973 season, but the new series wasn't selected for production
This pilot was a remake of a 1967 pilot of the same name which also starred Peter Graves.
The gimmick behind this show was that Peter Graves character still worked for the government and pulled off impossible missions, but instead of using fellow government agents he would recruit ordinary people without government training. If the series had sold Graves would have been the only recurring character. Each week he would recruit different people from different walks of life, depending on what their skills were and what were needed for the mission.
This concept finally got made into a series under the title of Masquerade, starring Rod Taylor, Greg Evigan (BJ and the Bear) and Kirstie Alley ("Star Trek:The Wrath of Khan" and "Cheers")
Genre: Adventure / Thriller (more)
Plot Outline: Each week there would be a new top-secret mission. The spy organization would bring in new operatives to accomplish specific tasks during the mission-of-the-week. Instead of highly-trained agents, they would find a civilian who was an expert in a field. For example, if the job involved somehow planting a bug in a persons house, they might employ a plumber who would be able to figure out how to get the bug in via water pipes). The episodes usually started with a briefing of the new spies, which helped the viewer figure out who could do what.
Complete credited cast: Kirstie Alley .... Casey Collins Greg Evigan .... Danny Doyle Rod Taylor .... Lavender (1983-84)
In the pilot the idea was that there was an IMF type organization, but all of the agents were compromised--the other side discovered who they were and where they were. So Rod Taylor, the leader of the organization, had to recruit civilians instead. Evigan was a cop brought into the organization and Alley the one remaining agent still working with Taylor. Each episode began with Taylor's character saying "The United States government would like to invite you.....to come spy with us".

A really cheesy movie I saw a while back was Killer Clowns from Outer Space ("In Space, no one can hear you eat ice cream!"). It turns out clowns actually originated as evil aliens who would come to earth in ancient times with their crazy technologies and capture humand to turn them into cotton candy for them to eat. AND NOW THEY HAVE RETURNED!!!
Yeah, it was really bad.
