I've seen on my own board that the new season of Battlestar Galactica begins on July 15th at it's 10:00pm time slot on SciFi Channel. Unlike last season, this year the fans in the states don't have to wait for the show to be seen.

I've seen some promos and it looks really good. Tigh is in charge of the fleet. In one promotional shot it looks like Tigh is almost ready to execute Boomer on the spot. I hear Tigh's run as Commander isn't going to be very popular, either.

There's also word coming out that they are remaking the "Living Legend" episodes from the first Galactica, bringing Commander Cain and the Pegasus into the show.

There's also word coming out that they are remaking the "Living Legend" episodes from the first Galactica, bringing Commander Cain and the Pegasus into the show. I don't know if I would like that, I would rather have it that they just do original story lines for this series. It makes me thing that maybe they are having troubles coming up with stories if they just start remeking stories from the original show.

Technically they had two remakes last season: "The Hand of God", which was the same title and a similar concept and their two part Kobal storyline, "Kobal's Last Gleaming", which was similar to "Lost Planet of the Gods". The "Living Legend" storyline will be retitled "Pegasus" from what's being said. The is a chance Commander Cain will outrank Adama in this version and possible be female.

That would be cool, I kind of like the way they are redoing bits and pieces of the original-- that way they can put different spins on them, but also that they have original shows coming out is awesome it shows that they are taking it seriously and beginning to bring in their own idea's of how "it should gone"

Pegasus will be the ninth episode of the season. Cain will be an Admiral and want to take control of the fleet away from Adama. Also rumored is that Cain will be female in this version.

Actuall they did three remakes the one where Starbuck is shot down "You Can't go Home Again". The difference with this one and the original one is that it takes stuff from two different episodes from different seasons of the original show. Pegasus will be the ninth episode of the season. Cain will be an Admiral and want to take control of the fleet away from Adama. Also rumored is that Cain will be female in this version. With the way things have been done so far when it comes to character I wouldn't be surprised that they change to sex of the character Cain.

It's been confirmed that they do change the sex of Cain. In fact, Michelle Forbes (Star Trek: The Next Generation) was cast as Admiral Cain.
You're right about "You Can't go Home Again". It was technically a remake of "The Return of Starbuck" from Galactica 1980.

On the topic of episode remakes, Bastille Day was also a remake of an episode from the old show.

Well, up here in Canada, we're just getting to see the first part of season 2 (starting January 14th on Space). Hopefully they'll see fit to spare us the 4-month break in the middle of the season. That'd have to drive ya nuts!
