Director Bryan Singer recently stated in an interview that he would like to direct a new Star Trek film. While not giving details of what the film would be about, he did say that he envisioned it as big a big picture involving a lot of characters. Singer previously directed X-Men I and II and is finishing up on Superman Returns. He also had a hand in the SciFi Channel mini-series The Triangle.

Bryan Singer did an amazing job on the X-Men movies. I would love to see what he could do with a Trek film! We might see the best thing since The Undiscovered Country , maybe even something as good as The Wrath Of Khan was.

Singer's Superman Returns looks good, too. I'm hoping that after Superman Returns Paramount would be interested in a Singer directed Trek film.
