We went to see Star Wars Episode Three this weekend. This is by far the best of the Prequels. A number of the plot lines come together in this film and there's a little more understanding as to what was really going on in the previous two movies. It's also sad because it's a farewell to these characters. I really came to like the younger Obi Wan in these three films, and it's been interesting to see Natalie Portman mature from a teenager to an adult. In some scenes she hardly looks like she did in Episode I. If you've been a Star Wars fan then you want to see how Anakin changes into Darth Vader and how the Jedi Knights meet their end.

I was really excited when The Phantom Menace came out and waited in line to see it, by this one I still want to see it but just find myself not as excited, I do want to see how Anakin turns into Darth, and what happened to Amidala that sent Luke and Leia to different ends of the universe, but just not as excited about it.

Without giving anything away, Anakin's motivations for turning to the Dark Side weren't what I expected them to be. The seperating of Luke and Leia are more basic. In some ways I felt sorry for Anakin, because the impression given in the climatic battle scene was that Anakin really believed in what he was doing was right.

ok so I gave in and went and saw it--all I can say is--I feel slightly left wanting!!! there are still a few little questions I have but I also think you are right Anakin's descision was because he felt what he was doing was the right thing but for the wrong reasons.

Couldn't agree more LadyTass2001.
I have to say I just don't think this trilogy beats the original. Obviously Star Wars was something completely new back in the 70's and I think this was the reason that it was so explosive on it's release.
In todays world we expected to see something far greater, and on the Special Effects side, we did. I just don't think there was the wonder and mysticism that was present with the original.
Also, as much as I have to say it, I think the thought of the money that could be made through franchise deals played a great deal in the making. I mean come on Ja Ja Stinks (sorry Binks), he must have been made for the comic figure that the children would grab off the shelves, although I think even half of them thought he stank!

Well, today we finally saw the movie, and after it was over both of us said the same thing - "doesn't he have any other facial expression?". It brought all the movies together, but I felt something was missing. What? I don't know. Still trying to figure out that one!

It is missing a whole lot like how did they get all of the "Jedi" masters to fall into their hands sooooooooo easily? ?? Boy the Light side just went blink into a dark bulb or what?

EXACTLY - for as strong as the force was supposed to be, it sure dwindled like blowing out a candle. Yoda and the droids were fun as usual.

Been thinking (and yes it hurt!) I think with power there will always be a little corruption, in whatever form. I think this showed in the way the Jedi integrated itself within the clone armies etc and put themselves in the firing line. I can only assume that something was built into the clones that made them switch when they heard the general order command. So if they weren't even aware, I guess that's what caught the Jedi off guard. I come to this conclusion due to the scene where the clone guard gives back Obi-wans light sabre in the scene before they try to kill him. What I can't understand is why if the Sith are like another cult, following a different view of how the Force should be used, is there only 2. I mean, it sounds like a pretty crappy following to me. How can 2 people do so much damage, person for person I guess the Sith are far more able than the Jedi

I heard that the women Jedi in the Star Wars Galaxy have far greater powers than the men anyway. Apparently they just have to look at a male oponent in a certain way and the male Jedi knows he might as well leave! I think my wife has Jedi powers, she's looking at me now and I know I'd better log out and take her shopping, bye
