This movie has been brought up a couple of times so I was wondering what everyone else thought of it? I am a big big fan of this movie,I remember watching it back in the 80's it just captured the King Arthur Legend so fully I think it introduced a whole new Generation to Fantasy Fiction.

I feel that this has been the best King Arthur movie to date. Even better than the new that came out.

I liked the new one but for different reason's- I liked it more for it's historical appeal-that is probably more like what the myth is built upon but I still prefer Excalibur for it's Fantasy appeal!!!!

This has to be one of my favs!!! i like it. I like the new one as well but there are things in this movie that can not be redone. it just has to stay the way that the legond goes and that is that. would be like changing robin hood.

True but that hasn't stopped Hollywood from trying to change Robin Hood.

They have done Robin Hood a few time's-LOL-I would kind of like to see a Robin Hood done like they did the new King Arthur-not so much the myth but the reason behind the myth-Not that I believe the New King Arthur is the actual reason for the myth(felt I should put that in here)

Most of the historical research done in to the legends of Robin Hood, lead to a at least a few possible outlaws. But hey why a person back then became an outlaw who knows. We can only guess. As for the Legend of King Arthor dates back well after the fall of Rome. Though I must get around to reading Le Morte DArthur.

I think this movie has probably done that for alot of people, the way they puty it together was excellent, it had the right mixes of reality and Fantasy with just a touch of nasty to add to the Genre.

Welcome to ATF, haramis. I think this is the very best of the King Arthur movies. I especially like Merlin - very funny guy! ;D Thank you, ladytui. I also liked the current take on King Arthur (Roman occupation, etc.), because the history of England, Scotland, Wales & Ireland is fascinating to me.
