Thoiugh I really don't care for Gory nasty slasher films I really enjoyed this one, the concept of the Cenobites was ingenious, The use of semi-erotica and the scare factor was wonderful do you have an opinion? then share it with the rest of us.

The original Hellraiser was a very 'artsy' horror film, much like 'The Hunger', but a little bit gorrier. I think what made the film so great was Clive Barker's direct involvement in making the film from beginning to end.
I saw this film uncensored, when it first came out. It was a special presentation at The Bloor Cinema in Toronto. Clive Barker was there himself, introducing the movie with a humourous speech beforehand (talking about dealing with the Canadian censors and things like that). He also hung out in the lobby after the movie, chatting with everybody, signing autographs, and even doing artwork on people's leather jackets! (with one of those permanent sparkley-marker things). My friend, Louise ended up with a really nice piece that covered the entire back of her jacket.
Clive Barker. What a cool guy! And what a great film.

I've never seen the original. Maybe one day I'll rent it. Like Tass, I'm not fond of really gory slasher type pictures, but I'll often try a movie to see what it's like.
