He finds a small statue on his pocket as he begins to sweat, then discovers he’s bleeding from heat blisters on his face staggering, he pulls out the gas hoses and collapses to the ground in convulsions as the blisters cover his entire body.
The guy with the cell phone sees him as his blisters cause enough heat to ignite the gasoline blowing up the pumps.
The FBI believes a copycat killer is responsible for a series of murders identical to those of a dead bio-terrorist called "terrormaker" and that he could kill people with hellfire
Kolchak suspects that the murders have a supernatural explanation.
The terrormaker sent wax figurines to burn his victims
Got to admit, I am really liking this show myself and I was kinda expecting not to like it, being I used to watch the original series as a kid but like a lot of old shows that are being "reinvented" so far this one has turned out pretty good IMO

I admit I'm liking this show a lot, too. Once you get over the difference in actors and style of the show it's a really great show.
