Well I got to watch a few episode of the series way back when it was new. And just a couple of days ago I picked up the movie that was filmed just last year. I have to sya that I quite enjoy the new movie, though I seemed to me that it was more of a retelling of a story that coming out with something new. Still I suggest that anyone get a chance to rent or buy it. Its worth watching.

I'm a long time fan of Shirow Masemune, but this new Appleseed doen't feel like his work. It's more like a big film company capitalising on the title, characters, background, visuals and brand name to make a big studio blockbuster (kinda like the Lost In Space, Miami Vice or Charlie's Angels movies.)
My personal opinion, lousy dialouge and absolute butchering of the origional story. Great visuals, animation and disign work thow. On a technical level, very impresive melding of classical and computer animation.
Oh yeah, hi jabb, long time no terrorize eh? Hows things (wife, kids, dog, Canada, etc. ?)

Animation is bang on, though I didn't mind the dialog re-imaginings of a series don't always work. Thankfully no Wife, Kids and Dog, Weather is up and down.
