This is an older game, but a good one. It's one of LucasArts' first adventure games; the predecessor of Monkey Island.
You play Bobbin Threadbare, a young boy who is shunned from his Guild, the Weavers. The Weavers have the ability to cast magical spells by weaving musical 'drafts'. But the Weavers have transcended time and space, becoming swans and leaving you behind. You must learn the magic abilities the Weavers' elders forbade you to learn in order to follow them, and find out what happened to your mother.
In this game you have no inventory, nor do you have standard parsed commands, like in Monkey Island or other similar games. Instead, you have your magical 'Distaff' which allows you to manipulate objects in the game world by casting spells on them or yourself(i.e. open/close, illuminate/darken, heal, dye/bleach, invisibility, etc). And to do this, you first have to learn the musical tune which represents the essence of what your trying to do. For example, you may be able to hear the essence of the 'empty' draft by listening to the dripping of a spilled flask. Playing the draft backwards will weave the 'fill' draft.
Anyway, it's a fairly old game, available at abandonia.com for free download. It's fairly easy and quick, but the story is interesting, and it a very original sort of game.
