I don't know that this deserves its own thread, but I didn't see a "What are you playing" thread. If it needs to be moved, please move it. Thanks. Anyway, I picked this up at Target not too long ago and was intrigued b/c it was (and still is) one of my favorite books. The player is the the eleventh guest who gets stranded on Shipwreck Island along with the others. It's a pretty cool game, however, I'm not too familiar with all that is out there, so I'm sure there are much cooler ones. The only games I've been able to handle are these murder mystery types (also a big fan of the Nancy Drew games; I justified them by saying that someday my kids will play them. LOL) that aren't too hard. Thank God for online walkthroughs... ;D

Aha at last someone who doesn't pretend they can do everything on their own. I too must admit that I use the odd walkthrough (or, ahem, cheat ) to get through some games. Justification: Apart from trying to keep what's left of the hair on my head (ie pulling my hair out!), there is no way I'm buying a game for £30+ and only get half way through it. Hell, surely I deserve the gratifying 'You've done it!' end scene, just for spending my money. ;D

I've also had the misfortune of buying a game and it's so bad that I don't even want to finish it. It was a game called Capri, I think, that had real photographs of the island (pretty) but cheesy graphic game items (not so pretty) to pick up. That was a total waste of money! LOL

I do play quite a bit on my PC, but it tends to be more Real Time Strategy (RTS) games. The following are my favourites: Warcraft 3 Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth (2s coming out soon ;D) The UFO series (getting UFO: Aftershock for Xmas!) Rome Total War Chaoes League Sudden Death Always go back to C&C Generals I tend to be a little more conservative with my purchases now (although from the above list it may not look like it). However I can recall that when I had my Amiga (with the 512kb upgrade to bring it up to a full 1mb (Impressed eh? ), I bought anything that looked good from the box art that it came in. Now that led to some real shocking buys .

I myself prefer RPG's (role playing game) and FPS's (first person shooter). Though I do like a few strat games. Currently I play: World of Warcraft F.E.A.R. Counter Strike I usually try a game out before buying but occasionally I get hyped and buy buy buy .

Enigma: In RTS games, do you spend most of your time building civilizations, ships, or armies and then watch the action or do you control that too? Smellywookiee: Is World of Warcraft an online game? I've seen some of these and heard of them (Everquest--is that right? ), but haven't experienced it yet. Sorry for the stupid questions, especially considering all I can handle right now are Nancy Drew games or this Agatha Christie one , but I'm interested in knowing about some of these other types of games for the future.

Yeah WoW is an MMORPG (massive multi-player online role playing game). Like Everquest, Final Fantasy 11, Star Wars Galaxies, and Guild Wars. I have played all of these and have to say after Sony screwed Star Wars Galaxies, and made it a kiddie game WoW is the best one out there.
