How many play the game called Neverwinter Nights. It's a great RPG based off of the Pen and Paper Dungeons and Dragons 3rd edition rules.

Unfortunately i have never really had the time to play the game or a system that could handle it. Hopefully I'll finally find the time to ply this one and ever the Shadowbain series as well.

JW, If you are going to get it than I would get the platinum edition--It has 3 games in one box, the original and 2 add on's--It would be cheaper for you that way.

I would like to be able to do that but it doesn't look like there is a Mac version of the platinum edition being put out. Another thing that has me confused is that the updates on Biowares site doesn't list a mac version, though reading the mac faq says that the data files are interchangeable. Still I'm going to have to wait for a while still.

My roommate and I are hoping to get this game sometime. We're into D&D, so it would be worth trying. Money, however, is an issue. :/

Once you do get it let us know and I can recommend an awesome server to play it on--LOL--just be ready because this particular server is not for the faint of heart--pretty darned hard you will need a guide or two to get anywhere with out dying right at first.

Well, my roommate got it, and I'm really enjoying the single player game. I'm not that into multiplayer games though, so I haven't bothered with that.
I'm in Chapter Two, as a Monk level 8 (or so), and a Rogue level 4 (or so). It's an awesome combination, to have a 2d6 sneak attack in addition to the monk's awesome hand-to-hand combat abilities.
Despite being part rogue, I like to use Tomi as my henchman. He's a lot better at disabling traps than I am (even if I have to make him spring it on himself ;D), and is pretty good at fighting as well, what with his sneak attack and all.

The online game is completely different from SP. Having someone behind the other characters is much more enjoyable.

Dracus, good to see you posting.........and you are right about having someone behind the player on the servers. the interaction between the characters is what makes it so much fun

I caved and bought NWN: Diamond a few days ago. it's on DVD, and was only $29.99 CAD. I was planning to buy it off my old roommate eventually anyway, but he wanted the platinum edition for $40 (he paid about $70). The platinum, which is still on CD, was about $45, so I think I got a decent deal.
Diamond edition has everything platinum has (NWN, Hordes of the Underdark, Shadows of Undrentide, pathes, and smaller modules), plus the Kingmaker expansion, which has more quests, but no new classes or anything. The only downside is that it doesn't have a full printed manual. it only has the manual on PDF format on the DVD.
