I have read the first Dune novel. I thoroughly enjoyed it! In comparison to the mini-series, it had a lot of information that was missed, and I liked how you could tell what the characters were feeling. The story was written well, and I hope some day to write a novel as good!

I've read quite a few of his novels, and I find him to be a consistantly interesting authour. I'm a huge fan of his Dune series, but that's not all there is to him. I also recommend his Ship series (Destination: Void; The Jesus Incident; The Lazarus Effect; The Ascension Factor), with Bill Ransom, and The White Plague, which is about a genetically engineered plague which was science fiction at the time, but is frighteningly possible by today's standards.

Did you read them and what did you think. When I first read the original trilogy 25 years ago I felt that I had learned the secrets of the universe. Later, it was like I had learned them and forgotten. I think that was just good storytelling and very thoughtful writing.
